Norse Wrestling Tops Valley
Northfield closed their wrestling regular season by beating the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings at home Tuesday.
Freshmen Eli Gahl, Rylan Schultz, and Burton Black earned 18 team points by pining their opponents and forfeit, respectfully. Sophomores Isaac Stakemen won by pin, while Tayten Barlow and Brayden Rice won by a forfeit. Sealing the victory was Senior Layne Denton, winning his match by pin. The Final Score was 48-33!
The Wrestling Team honored its departing Seniors, Alexis Gates, Baden Turner, and Layne Denton. Alexis and Layne earned four varsity letters in wrestling, and Baden earned two. Thank you, Seniors!
The Norsemen finished the 2023-2024 wrestling season with an 18-12 record! Northfield travels to Maconaquah High School on Saturday, January 20th, to compete in the Three Rivers Conference Tournament.
