Boys Varsity Basketball beats Hamilton Heights 62 – 54

The Braves improved to 9-3 with a big road win over Hamilton Heights.

Coach Burrus Quotes: “This was a new game on our schedule but an old opponent from the old MIC days. I like how our kids responded. We rebounded better as the game went on. Ethan Zeiser with 13 rebounds was a highlight for me. Fuddy Kile had 10 rebounds. Josiah Ball had 8 rebounds. MJ Ellis had 7 rebounds. That is a lot of rebounds by four players (38). Fuddy Kile played a great defensive game with 5 steals and numerous times he went down on the floor. We overall, showed great effort and had a desire to win! We made mistakes but most of those were from trying hard and give HH credit. They played hard and were hard to break down, at times.

We had a lot of turnovers but we overcame that by forcing HH to take some 3’s out of rythm and played at our pace.. Overall, to go on the road and play the defense we did, I was proud of our team. The problems we had in this game are things we can continue to practice, and fix.

We survived with Ball on the bench with 4 fouls. When he left the game I felt everyone dug in and kept the lead. Then, when he came in early in the 4thv we were able to get back to what we were doing and won by 8.

It was a big win because HH is always a solid basketball program. Going there and winning was really a big step for us. We play Cass on Friday in a big TRC game. Hope to see you there.”
