Boys Varsity Basketball beats Carroll Jr-Sr High School (flora) 85 – 60

The Braves got a Tuesday win at home against Carroll. The win improves the Braves record to 12-4. The Braves are at Southwood, Friday. JV:6:15.

Coach Burrus Quotes: “This game was really a good win for us. Carroll had won 12 games coming into the game. AJ Kelly had been feeling sick for a couple of games. He went out and played a great game. AJ finds a way to score on different teams. He hit 4 three’s to go with 5-5 from the line. He also took the ball to the basket. He ended with 33 points.

I liked how we played in the second half. We held Carroll to 26 points. This helped us stretch our lead. MJ Ellis had 4 big blocks. Josiah Ball scored 23 points and really made big plays in the second half.

Oakley Reeser continues to play good defense at the top of our defense. He has also hit some timely 3’s. We also are excited to have Kaden Miller back from injury.

I also wanted to mention we have 3 players who are all joining the 100 rebound club. Fuddy Kile, Josiah Ball, and Ethan Zeiser. These 3 have been great on the boards. A lot of these are offensive rebounds. Great job to get there this early.

We are going to Southwood on Friday to continue our hope for a TRC championship. It is my first time back coaching at Southwood. It is our only game next week we are playing. Please keep supporting this team. The kids continue to work hard. We need your support at Southwood.
