Boys Varsity Basketball beats Northwestern 70 – 59

The Golden Eagles played a strong second half to come out victorious against a good visiting Northwestern team on senior night 70–59! That win moves the Eagles to 12–9 and guarantees them a winning record for the season once again! All seniors stepped up tonight as well as the rest of the team to help the seniors win their last game on their home floor for their careers! The four seniors that started combined for 36 of the 70 points with Levi Trexler scoring 13, Colin Middlesworth 10, Trenton Sweet 7, and Jackson Lamb 6. Also helping out in the scoring column were 3 underclassmen. RJ Shugart had a team high 16 points hitting 4-4 behind the arch. Jace Tonagel had 14 points and 8 assists. Ryan Lawson hit 2 clutch free throws to help seal the game and ended with 4 points. The Golden Eagles have just one game left on the season as they travel to state ranked Delta this Friday with a JV tip off at 6 PM. They will then travel to Mississinewa on Wednesday evening at 6 PM versus Maconaquah in the opening round of the sectional.
