Boys Varsity Basketball falls to Peru 69 – 52

The boys basketball team fell in the semifinals of sectional tonight 52-69 to a good Peru team. It was once again a terrific atmosphere and the Oak Hill student section and fans of all ages were out supporting the Golden Eagles tonight! It was greatly appreciated! It was tight the first quarter as the teams played hard on both ends. The Eagles then made a huge run after getting down in about a 2 minute span spurred on by the Eagles energy and senior Trenton Sweet! Trenton scored 9 big points in a hurry in that stretch and we went up by 11. The second half of that quarter Peru methodically came back and ended up taking a one point lead into halftime. In the 3rd quarter Peru got hot and out scored us 20-7. The Golden Eagles fought to the end, but just couldn’t overcome Peru. Sweet ended up leading in scoring with 15 points. Jace Tonagel had 13 points and several assists. Ty Fagan had 6 points, all in the 2nd half. RJ Shugart had 6 points all in the first half. Levi Trexler battled early getting rebounds and blocks, and ended with 5 points. Jackson Lamb had 4 points. Ryan Lawson rounded out the scoring hitting a three pointer for his 3 points. The Eagles finished the season 13-11
