Manchester tennis took to the road to play Southwood and a beautiful, sunny night for fun tennis.

Manchester continued to improve their play as they swept all matches in a timely fashion. Bethany Penrod was first off the courts followed by the top doubles team of Carleigh Blevins and Addison Brubaker each winning 6-0,6-0. “Bethany took control of her match and never wasted time with pin point shots and very few errors. Her ability to strategize and take care of business is impressive,” replied Coach Eichenauer. “And our one doubles play just keeps getting better. Addison and Carleigh maintained their aggressive returns, power serves, and net poaches. I like how they incorporated several new strategies into their match today.

” Manchester’s third point came when Myla Crozier hit several winners to take her match 6-0,6-1. “Myla just showed her all around game and high IQ play as she demonstrated why she’s a top player in this region of Indiana,” shared Coach Eichenauer. Moments later Sarah Kerllin, Manchester’s other top region player matched Crozier’s score of 6-0,6-1. “Sarah is really striking the ball with authority these past few days. She looks so relaxed and in command on the court as she crushes her groundstrokes and dictates play.” The final Manchester win came from Kate Schroll who paired with Ella Bradley (filling in for Hailey Krom -FFA Event) at two doubles. After winning a long back and forth Schroll deuce service game to open the match, the duo rolled out 7 straight games before Southwood would get on the board. After trading games, Manchester would push their 4-3 lead to 6-3 with several great net plays and quality serves. “Despite giving up a few games in set two, Schroll and Bradley showed great potential and shot making in their match. What a great night to win with a combined score of 60-5!

!” Manchester moves to 5-0 on the year and has completed a perfect 4-0 record halfway through the conference schedule.

In JV action Manchester would cruise to a combined 32-2 score with Chase Blevins, Maggie Onderko-White and Katie Jenkins easily winning singles matches and Marley Bellinger and Haley Betten taking the lone doubles contest. This pushed the JV record to 5-0 on the year.
