Manchester Girls/Wabash Boys Capture County Track Titles

The Manchester girls and Wabash boys took home Wabash County track titles Wednesday.

For the 5th straight year, the Lady Squires track team has run away with the County crown. With great performances and a balanced show, the ladies managed to win the last County track meet.

The Squires compete at Sectionals next Tuesday at Bremen.

The guys had many excellent performances, but came up short to a strong Wabash team. The very last event was the race of the night as teammates Eli Metzger, Tyler McClain, Kyler Dale, and Carson Heath won over Wabash in a photo finish. Heath managed through sheer determination to hold off Wabash’s number one sprinter in a fantastic race.

The Wabash High School boys track team ended Wednesday night as the 2024 county champions after great efforts from all team members.

The 4×800 relay of Jonas Church, Ezra Church, Brett Shull, Drew Guenin-Hodson. The relay set a new county meet record with a time of 8:21.36

The boys track team traveled to Wabash Wednesday evening to compete in the County Meet. The boys finished 3rd with 41 points. Wabash won the meet with 96pts, followed by Manchester with 68pts, and Southwood finished 4th with 37pts.

The Northfield girls track team traveled to Wabash Wednesday evening to compete in County. The girls finished 4th with 31pts. Manchester won the meet with 83 points followed by Wabash 75pts, and Southwood 52pts.
