American League Results from Thursday, June 20

The Alan Zimmerman Law Office Pirates win over the Lunquist Realty Red Sox 15-5. The Red Sox were eliminated from the post season tournament. Great season Red Sox!!.

Like Moses; Westin Pretorius won’t be able to pitch in the promised land but he got his tribe there as he put his team on his back and pitched the Pirates to a 15-5 victory over the Red Sox. The plan going in was to pitch three pitchers 35 pitches so the Pirates would have their entire pitching staff available for the Championship games on Saturday. The score was tied 5-5 when the coaches met in the Pirate dugout to discuss whether to take Westin over the 35 pitch limit, as it was too early to bring in their closer and finish the game within 35 pitches. Grandpa Stan Leland and father Joe Pretorius agreed – as the bases were loaded with Redsox and only one out. To quote Westin…. “I shut them down” and the Pirate bats woke up to pull away in the 4th inning. Belly Poe had a triple… his cousin Bam Bam Poe had two doubles. Dexter Freeman and Tynliegh Cattin had hits, and Pretorius had two hits – including a bases clearing double to lead the Pirate attack. The Pirates play against the Braves Saturday at Noon and when they win………………. they will play again at 2:00pm

For the Red Sox – In the loss, Colton McCoart pitched a great game! Pierce McILvenny had two doubles. Carson Dale and Noah Purdy with great fielding, as the Red Sox close their season. “Thank you to all the fans and supporters of the Red Sox”, stated Coach Shane King.

So the stage is set, it all comes down to Saturday at NOON: Braves vs. Pirates. If the Braves win at Noon, they will be crowned Champions. If the Pirates win, these two teams will square off in the final game at 2pm. Come out to the Field of Dreams Saturday at NOON to watch these 2 great teams battle.
