The Squires junior varsity got back on the winning track with a win at Winamac. The Squires got off to a fast start as they hit their first several shots. Leading the early charge was freshman Maddox Zolman as he hit his first three shots. Winamac then shifted their defense to a box and one to slow the squires. The Squires found themselves down at the half but clawed their way back in the third. The goal in the 4th quarter was to reduce their lead to one possession midway through the 4th. The squires did that and mostly did it from the free throw line. With about 3:30 left in the game the Squires had tied the game and took the lead just after. It went back and forth for a while and again free throws kept the squires in the game and on top. Bottom line this game was won by the squires at the free throw line. The Squires ended the game 24-27 from the free throw line. Squires outscored Winamac 10-1 in the overtime period. Big win for us !
