Lady Squires Hold Off Adams Central In OT

The Manchester Lady Squires held off Adams Central 46-43 in overtime Tuesday.

The Lady Squires came out with a rough start against the Lady Jets of Adam Central tonight. Adam Central had the quick lead, but by the end of the half, the ladies fought back and went into halftime with a 22-18.

Adams Central’s pressure had the Lady Squires offense a little rattled in the second half, but Manchester did not back down defensively. They controlled the rebounds with a total of 43 on the night.

Gracie Lauer led with 12 boards, followed by Molly Schannep with 7 and McKelvey Espeset with 6. Offensively, many of the Lady Squires contributed to the game tonight. Brookelynn Buzzard led the way with 14 points including a free throw to send the game into OT, and she also had 6 assists. Hadley West and Olivia Neal each added 8 points. Mckelvey Espeset and Molly Schannep each added 5 points. Kim Schroll, Aliala Atienza, and Gracie Lauer each had 2 points. Espeset had all 5 of her points in OT, and West and Buzzard both hit free throws that helped seal the deal for the Squires.
