Varsity vs North Miami High School (3 – 2) Win
The Lady Braves came away with a five-set victory over North Miami in a barn burner Thursday night at Maconaquah. The set scores were 20-25, 25-20, 25-20, 20-25, 15-13. Our girls showed a lot of grit coming back from 5-11 in the fifth set to win 15-13 as Aubrey Kaiser’s serve clips the net and falls over for an ace on match point. Our JV started the night off with a solid performance to pick up their first Dub on the season, 25-17, 25-16. Varsity travels to Huntington Saturday for four matches at the Huntington North Invite.
Tonight the 7th Grade Girls Volleyball team took it to three sets again getting their first win of the season! They won the first set 25 – 19, the second set was a loss of 18 – 25, and another win in the third set with a score of 15-9. For the night Bristol Yoder led the team with 15 serve points, Whitney Barnes and Abigael Pearce each had 5, Bailei Boggs had 3, Katrina Cardwell with 2, and Hayden Soldi with 1. Ellie Hostetler, Evelyn Fred, and Raewyn Alexander all contributed defensively with their digs. The girls play again Tuesday September 3rd at Eastern with a start time of 6:00pm.
The 8th grade lady braves took a loss tonight but played a great game. In the first set it was 25-21. Leading in serves was Zariah Hayden with 6, Eliot Fuller and Addie Korba both had 4, Brinley Meyer and Ava Shively with 3 each, and Marlee Sears with 1.
In the second set, the Braves played a hard-fought battle but fell short 25-23. Leading in serves was Meyer with 6, Fuller with 5, Shively with 4, Sears with 3, Hayden with 2, and Ryleigh Marburger, and Kaidence Michels with 1 each. Lilly Fisher, Jessa Fye, and Savannah Manriquez helped the team defensively tonight. The Braves continues to improve each game. The Lady Braves travel to Eastern on Tuesday, 9/3.
