Girls Varsity Basketball beats Twin Lakes 42 – 38

After a trophy-filled 2024, the Lady Kings faced a rocky start to 2025, battling injuries and tough opponents. The challenges began when standout sophomore Laney Davis broke her arm during the Carroll Holiday Tournament. Following that setback, the team dropped their first two games of the year against strong squads from Oak Hill and Northfield.

Saturday’s matchup against the 5-13 Twin Lakes Lady Indians seemed like the perfect opportunity to turn things around. But Twin Lakes had other plans. From the opening tip, the Kings struggled to contain the Lady Indians’ shooters, trailing by five points at halftime.

During the break, the focus was clear: improve rebounding and defense. The Lady Kings responded with determination, clawing their way back to within two points entering the fourth quarter. The final frame was a thrilling back-and-forth battle with multiple lead changes. Late in the game, the Kings seized the lead and held on to secure a much-needed victory.

Anna Hedrick led the way with 14 points, while Mylie Sipe added 11. Other contributions came from Aftin Griffin with 10 points, Ava Hubner with 3, and Hope Rush and Lexi Gotshall with 2 points each.

With the 42-39 win, the Lady Kings snapped their two-game skid and improved to 13-4 on the season. They will look to keep the momentum going on Tuesday night when they host Tipton at Lewis Cass.
