The Wabash cross country teams ran in the Marion Invite Saturday.
The girls set off, racing to the best of their abilities and was able to pull away with a 5th place team finish out of 14 complete teams and 22 schools represented in the race.
Freshman Teresina Cordes was first for the Apaches, coming in with a close to PR time of 18:16 and placing 2nd overall. Following in after Cordes, was Sutton Stoffel, another freshman, with a PR time of 20:51 and taking 14th place overall. Next up for the team was Mya Golliher, a sophomore, coming in with a time of 21:56 and taking 29th place. The trio earned medals for placing in the top 30. Coming in for the senior crew was Chloe Cooper, with a time of 24:15 and taking 61st place. Next in the pack was Mallory Tart (senior) with a season PR of 24:43 and taking 64th place overall. Close behind her was another senior, Mia Fairchild, running a time of 25:05 and placing 69th overall. Chasing down another personal best time was Emma Cantrell, another sophomore, with a season PR of 25:53, and placing 85th overall. Cantrell is closing in on her career PR each week! Josie Bailey rounded out the running Apaches with a 27:40 and placing 106th place overall.
Led by Kamden Oswalt’s 1st place finish the Wabash High School Boys Cross Country Team won the Gold Division at the Marion Invite Saturday Morning besting 22 other teams.
James Unger and Kedryn Evenson recorded top 10 finishes at 3rd and 9th respectively. Luis Trejo continued his season improvement coming in 17th. Kalib Mabery and Landen Fisher finished within 7 seconds of each other at 57th and 61st. Demetri Shull wasn’t far behind in 70th. Carter Pegg was 109th and Barrett Benzinger was 116th. There were 140 total runners in the race.
