Huge Second Quarter Lifts Knights Past Adams Central

The Southwood Knights took on Adams Central Monday, exploding for 24 second quarter points in a 70-45 win over the Flying Jets.

The Knights would jump out to a quick 6-0 lead off three’s from Dallas Holmes and Gabe Lloyd before Adams Central clawed their way back and eventually took an 11-10 lead. Down 13-11 Jackson Simons would tie the game, followed by a three from Carson Rich to lead 16-13. Quintin Perry would score the final bucet of the quarter off a rebound as the Knights led 18-15 after one.

Holmes would lead a charge for the Knights to start the second quarter, scoring 7 straight points to open a 25-15 lead. Holmes and Lloyd would go to work with Lloyd hitting from behind the arch three times and Holmes scoring 11 points in the quarter. Southwood led 42-27 at the half.

Jackson Simons would hit twice for the Knights early in the third, followed by another Rich three as the lead grew to 49-32. Holmes would continue his dominance, hitting a long ball and scoring 9 points in the quarter. Rich and Perry would add buckets with the Knights leading 62-41 after three.

Adams Central would score the first points of the fourth quarter before Holmes and Rich knocked out any hope of a comeback. Luke Winer would add the final points in the Knights 70-45 win.
