The Manchester Lady Squires gave up one run before responding with five unanswered runs in a 5-1 win over Peru Wednesday.
The Tigers would plate a run in the second. After a single and a walk by the Wolfe’s Birchfield would single for a 1-0 lead.
The Squires would grab the lead in the third. Lydia Greer led off with a single and was followed by Emma West being hit by a pitch. A sac bunt by Torina Runkel would move the runners a baseWith two outs Carsyn Howard would single home both runners to give Manchester a 2-1 lead.
In the fifth Runkel would single and score on a Kindra Stetzel double for a 3-1 lead.
Manchester would tack on two insurance runs in the sixth. Avery Howard led off drawing a walk. With one out Howard would take second on a passed ball before scoring on a Greer single to make it 4-1. West and Runkel would follow with singles to load the bases before Stetzel reached on a two out error with Greer scoring to lead 5-1.
