The Peru Lady Tigers scored three runs in the middle innings and made it hold to defeat Wabash 3-2 Monday.
Peru would grab a 2-0 lead in the third when Maegan Sinkovics led off with a single. Courtlynn Crow would move Sinkovics a base. Graycee Ansari would follow with a single that chased Sinkovics to third before a Caitlyn Mongosa walk loaded the bases. Wolfe would follow with a walk that forced Sinkovics home with Mongosa scoring on a bad throw for a 2-0 lead.
Peru would increase their lead to 3-0 in the top of the fourth. Wabash would cut the deficit in the bottom of the inning. Katie Newman would single and take second on a fly ball. Newman would then advance to third on a ground ball before a Hannah Halverson single made it 3-1.
The Lady Apaches would tie the score in the sixth. Newman would single. With two outs Halverson would double with Newman racing home to make it 3-2.
Neither team would plate a run in the seventh as the Tigers held on for the 3-2 win.
