Northfield Softball Shuts Out Southwood

The Northfield Lady Norse scored two runs in the first and three in the seventh to defeat Southwood 5-0 Friday.

With one out in the first Ally Keaffaber would double and score on an Abby Hunter double. Kyra Kennedy would follow with a single that scored pinch runner Addi Rosen for a 2-0 lead.

Northfield pitcher Abby Hunter would keep the potent Southwood offense off balance most of the game, allowing just 5 hits.

In the seventh Kennedy would single with one out before Bailey Burcroff reached on an error. Kennedy would then steal third before scoring on an Elise Gottschalk single to make it 3-0. With two outs Gottschalk would steal home before Kenzie Baer, who had singled scored on an Emma Hoover double for the 5-0 score.
