The Manchester Squires got a four hit pitching performance from Mason Meyer while the offense took care of business in a 10-0 five inning win over Whitko in Saturday’s Wabash sectional semi finals.
The Squires would score in four of the five innings at the plate. Manchester would plate three runs in the first when Grant Strobel and Kam Lester led off with singles. A Mason Roberts single would make it 1-0 before Thane Creager cleared the bases with a triple made it 2-0. Creager would then score on a rundown at second for a 3-0 lead.
In the third Meyer would lead off with a double before scoring on a one out single from Creager to lead 4-0. Devin Marcum would then single home Craeger to lead 5-0.
Strobel and Lester would draw back to back walks to start the fourth before Strobel scored on a passed ball and Lester a fly ball from Roberts to make it 7-0.
In the fifth Marcum would walk. With two outs Strobel would be hit by a pitch before Lester was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Marcum would then score on a passed ball before Meyer singled home Carter Bedke to make it 9-0. Justin Self would follow with a walk off single that scored Lester for the 10-0 win.
With the win Manchester will play Wabash at 7:00 Monday for the sectional championship
