Wabash Boys Soccer Stops Caston
Wabash Boys Soccer rode a big second half to a 7-0 victory over the Caston Comets Thursday night. Five Apaches scored in a tremendous offensive showing.
Jacob France scored the first goal of the game off a Kolton Wilson throw-in twelve minutes into the game. Just a minute later Sol France put away a Will Galley free kick to make it 2-0. Wabash had a lot of good looks during the remainder of the half and won the possession battle, but couldn’t find the net again before halftime.
The second half started with Troy Guenin-Hodson’s blazing speed on the left wing creating scoring chances for his teammates. In quick order, Troy set up scores for Jacob France and Jacob Fuchs. Guenin-Hodson ended the game with 3 assists. Sol France scored his second from distance with 16 minutes to go.
Late in the game, Max Carpenter netted his third goal of the week off a Jacob France assist in the box. Wilson scored the last goal of the match after fighting to win the ball following a Guenin-Hodson cornerkick.
Spencer Stout, Brodie Craft, Devin Coffman and Will Galley all worked hard to preserve the shutout for Isaac Byers in goal. Byers had a quiet night collecting only 4 saves.
The Apaches are now 3-3 on the season. Next up, Wabash travels to Oak Hill on Tuesday for a 7 pm match-up.
