The Boys Varsity Soccer team held their own in a hard fought game ultimately resulting in a 3-1 loss to Northwestern tonight. Caleb Kroll scored the goal in the second half with the assist by Drew Elzinga.

The OHXC Golden Eagles put forth another one of their better efforts of the season Tuesday putting 5 runners in the Top 6 to score a near perfect 18 points in winning their 7th Straight Grant 4 Championship. In all the men have now won 23 of the last 24 Grant 4 team titles.

Juniors Owen Jackson and Trenton Sweet led the way going 1-2. Jackson was the individual champ for the 2nd straight year and along with Lady Eagle Biruk Travis’ win the program as a whole has had at least 1 Grant 4 Indiviual Champ for 12 straight seasons and 29 total the last 20 years. Jackson’s winning time was 16:08. Sweet took 2nd in 16:38 while classmate Toby Sneed battled Eastbrook’s top runner for 4th in a time of 17:09. Freshman Corban Tippey and Junior AJ Austin had by far their best nights of the season taking 5th and 6th respectively both breaking 18 minutes for the first time in their careers. Fellow Freshman Brayden Sommers also stepped up along with Sophomore Owen Roth as the two underclassmen posted lifetime bests respectively finishing 10th and 14th to round out the Varsity Top 7.

Freshman Jordan Denham was the Individual JV Champion finishing 16th. Classmate Evan Bledsoe was 4th in the JV results.

The OHXC Golden Eagles compete again Saturday September 24th in the New Haven Classic on the Huntington Semi State course.

The OHXC Lady Eagles used their best combined effort of the season thus far to push a very talented Eastbrook team and defend their previous active 9 straight Team Titles but ultimately fell just 9 points short to finish 2nd. Eastbrook scored 23 points to win their 1st team title in 10 years.

Freshman Lady Eagle Biruk Travis was the Individual Champion breaking 20 minutes for the 1st time recording a winning time of 19:54. Travis becomes just the 5th Lady Eagle athlete to break 20 minutes as a freshman. Her title was also the 12th straight year an OHXC Lady Eagle has won the race individually dating back to OHXC Assistant Coach Danielle Thompson’s title in 2011. Last year’s champion Junior Leah Highley ran her best race of the season to finish 5th overall in 21:43. Sophomore Audrey Woodard 7th, Senior Emma Bledsoe 9th, and Sophia Rowland 10th rounded out the top 5 varsity scorers and were all Top 10 All County. Sophomore Abby Sneed in 13th and classmate Eillie Campbell 14th were the other Top 7 Varsity runners.

Freshman Lydia Trexler was the JV Individual Champion finishing 15th overall. Classmate Kaitlyn Scalf was the JV Indivdual Runner Up.

The Lady Eagles compete again this weekend September 24th in the New Haven Classic on the Huntington Semi State course.
