Maconaquah High School Boys Varsity Basketball beat Rochester High School 80-31
The Braves got a big win on Senior Night. The Braves finish the regular season 15-7. We also finished 3rd in the TRC at 6-3.
Coach Burrus Quote: ” Our Senior Night was a great night for Maconaquah Basketball. Our students really have got into the spirit of things. The dressing up like Senior Citizens was quite a scene. After the game it hit me, Senior Night. I got it! Very creative!
The game was really impressive defense by the Braves. Rochester had been playing really well. We wanted to get them off the 3 point line. They made only 3, three point shots. We went on a 30-2 run in the 2nd and 3rd quarter. The first quarter was 10-8 but after that we played great basketball. 72-21 the rest of the way.
All of our Seniors played well. Our seniors are: Jackson Collins, Trace Armstrong, and Bauer Maple. They were able to close out with a big win at home. Always nice to win your last home game. Great job by all three.
Bauer Maple set the single season scoring record. He has scored 581 points this season. Matt Golitko scored 580 points in one season. Congratulations to Bauer and to the three Seniors. It was a special night. Thanks to all the fans who stuck around to honor the seniors. It was a great crowd. the whole evening was a lot of fun. Thank you all.
We hope to see you as we play Bellmont at the Peru Sectional. We play at 6pm on Wednesday night. Get behind the Braves!”
