Recap: The Wabash Hardware Giants defeated the Wabash Elk’s Lodge Cubs 4-3 in 6 innings Thursday night. Jake Sailors led the Giants at the plate going 2 for 2 with the game winning RBI double in the bottom of the 6th. Maverick Mattern added an RBI single for the Giants. Jake Sailors started on the mound striking out 6 in 2 innings of work. Micah Siders came on in relief to pick up the victory striking out 6 in 4 innings. Ryker Wilcox went 2 for 3 with an RBI to lead the Cubs. Grady Dillon had an RBI single. Wyatt Selleck added an RBI. Nash Cunningham and Paxton Wright both singled for the Cubs. Ryker Wilcox allowed 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 9 in 3 and 1/3 innings of relief. The Giants are now 4-2 while the Cubs are 2-3 on the season.
