The Wabash Boys Soccer team lost their home match to Oak Hill 3-0 Tuesday.

The Apaches were on the defensive most of the night and managed to hold the Eagles scoreless for the first half on fine defensive work from Will Galley, Prestyn Jones and Derek Reed. However, the Oak Hill attack and the stifling heat wore down the Wabash players and Oak Hill managed to score their first goal about 8 minutes into the second half. They quickly came back to score again off a corner kick to go up 2-0.

Wabash continued to battle and looked threatening at times but couldn’t manage to put the ball in the net. Galley took a penalty for Wabash after a hard foul in the box, but the ball struck the woodwork, denying the Apaches best scoring chance. Oak Hill netted a late goal to seal the win. Isaac Byers had another solid night in the goal making numerous first-half saves to keep the game even. Troy Guenin-Hodson dominated play on the outside of the midfield while putting in a full 80-minute shift on a hot night.

Wabash travels to Mississinewa next for a 6pm match on Thursday.
