Lady Squires Rally To Defeat Maconaquah
The Manchester Lady Squires basketball team opened the TRC season with a 60-53 win over Maconaquah Saturday.
Maconaquah would score the first 7 points of the game before Kim Schroll hit two free throws, followed by a Peyton ream bucket. Hannah Stout and Brookelynn Buzzard would also hit buckets as the Squires trailed 11-7 after the first stop.
Gracie Lauer and Ream would hit to start the second quarter and tie the score at 11 and eventually go up 15-13 on two Buzzard buckets. With the Squires up 22-19 the Braves would score 7 of the last 9 points of the quarter and led 26-23 at the half.
Maconaquah would go up 28-23 to start the third quarter before Lauer and Buzzard made it 30-29. The lead would go back and forth before Buzzard hit two free throws and Manchester led 40-39 with a quarter to go.
Stout would convert an old fashion three point play to start the fourth quarter for a 43-39 lead before Maconaquah fought back and led 45-44. Schrool would then hit a free throw, followed by two Buzzard free throws to grab the lead back at 48-45. Tied at 53 Buzzard would drain a three and two free throws before two Lauer free throws for the 60-53 win.

The Manchester junior varsity fell to Maconaquah 43-37
