The Lady Vikes were defeated at home Tuesday by #8 Homestead 42-58. With the loss the Vikes fall to 1-3 on the season. In this game Homestead jumped out early hitting 5 3’s in the 1st quarter. The Vikes closed the gap with a little run to end the quarter down 10-23. The 2nd quarter played more evenly with Homestead having a halftime lead of 31-16. Early in the 3rd quarter Homestead pushed the lead up to 28 points before a late 3rd quarter surge lead by 5 points each from Marissa Trout and Haiden Bailey. With Bailey’s 3 pointer at the buzzer the lead was set at 20 for Homestead. In the 4th quarter the Lady Vikes cut the lead down to 11 points with possession of the ball. The Vikes had 3 cracks to trim the lead under 11 but Homestead held strong hitting free throws down the stretch to seal the victory. The Lady Vikes next game is Tuesday at home against Bishop Luers
