Tigers end 3 game skid defeating Lafayette Central Catholic Knights

Peru traveled west to Lafayette on a cold winter night to face the Knights of Central Catholic on their homecoming.

The Tigers started the game with good defensive pressure forcing 5 turnovers, but struggled to find the bottom of the basket.

The second quarter saw LCC’s defense cause 4 turnovers of their own while Peru’s shooting was as cold as the temperature outside the gym, due to settling for long shots. The game was all knotted up at 22 at the half.

The 2nd half saw the shooting woes continue for the Tigers from deep, but they managed to limit the Knights as well with their defensive pressure.

The 4th quarter saw sloppy play on both ends of the floor, in what became a quarter marred with 16 fouls called combined. The Tigers were able to make enough free throws and play good enough defense to escape with a hard-fought win.

The win moves the Tiger to 8-6(4-1 TRC).
