The Lewis Cass Lady Kings win their first ever Regional Championship with a 37-25 victory over the Fremont Lady Eagles.

Defense was the key as they held the Lady Eagles to just 2 points in the 3rd quarter and 6 points in the 4th. Senior Kinsey Mennen had a huge night as she earned 4 blocks along with her 8 points, and 8 rebounds. Aftin Griffin led all scorers as she scored 13 points on the night. Other scorers for the Kings were Ava Hubner with 5, Heta Kosunen and Mylie Sipe with 4, and Anna Hedrick with 2 points. The Lady Kings improve to 22-3 on the season. The semi-state draw will take place Sunday afternoon at 2:00 on ihsaatv.org.

A message from the IHSAA.

To conduct the random drawing for the girls basketball semi-states, the IHSAA will place the four ping-pong balls representing each school in each remaining foursome (Class 1A North, Class 1A South, etc.) into a lottery-style, transparent, air mix machine. The first ball retrieved from the machine will be the visiting team in the first semifinal game with the second ball representing the home team in that game. The third ball to come out is the visitor in the second semifinal game two and the fourth ball the home team in that game. Additionally, the winner of the second semifinal game will be the designated home team in the championship.
