Southwood Wins Knight Relays
Southwood ran away from the competition at the Knight Relays. The boys and girls track teams combined in a coed competition to face off against 5 other teams.
2400m Relay Team of Carrie Collins, Owen Enyeart, Lola Winer, and Casey Boardman took 1st place in a time of 6:48.
Shuttle Hurdle Relay of Grace Drake, Luke Andrews, Emmerson Chellis, and Josiah Chellis placed 2nd in a time of 1:18.
4x200m Relay team of Presley Kroft, Maddox Marshall, Lola Winer, and Bo Liddick finished 1st in a time of 1:47.
4x800m Relay of Hailey Collins, Landon Mitchell, Jaiya Corn, and James Unger raced to a 1st place finish in a time of 10:03.
4x100m Relay team of Adi Deaton, Andrew Wright, Presley Kroft, and Josiah Chellis finished 2nd in a time of 51.1.
In the Distance Medley Relay, Carrie Collins (1200m), Cooper Drake (400m), Hailey Collins (800m), and Luke Andrews (1600m) raced to yet another 1st Place finish for the Knights by covering the distance in 12:55.
Taking another 1st Place finish was the relay team of Adi Deaton (100m), Maddox Marshall (100m), Lola Winer (200m), and Owen Enyeart (400m) in the Sprint Medley with a time of 1:50.
The 4x400m team of Grace Drake, Cooper Drake, Presley Kroft, and Casey Boardman brought home another 1st Place finish for the Knights in a time of 4:00.
Randy Boone, Gabe Mealy, Naomi Davis, and Emmerson Chellis finished in 4th as the Shot Relay Team.
The Discus relay of Grace Drake, Naomi Davis, Nolan Hiner, and Gabe Mealy finished 5th.
Hannah Garrison, Hailey Collins, Maddox Marshall, and John White represented the Knights in the Long Jump.
The High Jump team of Grace Drake, Emmerson Chellis, Bo Liddick, and Gabe Mealy jumped for a height of 19 feet 8 inches, good enough for another Knight win.
Closing out the night with a final Knight win was the Thrower’s Relay of Randy Boone, Gabe Mealy, Emmerson Chellis, and Naomi Davis in a time of 53.3.
