Lady Knights Notch First Ever Softball Sectional Title
The Southwood Lady Knights softball team won their 20th game of the season and first ever sectional crown Thursday, defeating West Central 3-1.
The Knights would plate 2 runs in the fifth. With one out Lili Combs would single and was followed by a Gracie Snyder bunt. A Rylee Thomas sac bunt put runners on second and third before Rowynn Goodpasture laid down a bunt and reached on a throwing error, scoring both runners.
West Central would get a run back in the sixth on a solo homerun before the Knights answered in the bottom of the inning. Izzy Ashba led off with a single before stealing second. With two outs Hali Pershing doubled to left center, scoring Ashba for a 3-1 lead.
