Northfield JH Girls Win At Rochester
The Northfield junior high girls basketball teams took two games from Rochester Thursday.
The Lady Norse travelled to Rochester on Thursday night beating the Zebras 32-4. The Lady Norse played outstanding defense as they held the home team to 3 points in the first half and suffocating defense led to only 1 point in the second. The Norse did a great job moving the ball around on offense. The Norse were victorious and Miranda Meyer led the way with 9 points, with 2 of those points being a last second layup going into halftime. Gemma Haupert had 8 points, 1 rebound. Kassidy Cartwright poured in 5 points. Avery Custer ended with 4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal. Bella Schultz had a great night coming off the bench with a lot of energy and ended with 4 points and a team high 4 rebounds. Tenley Kuhn rounded out the scoring with 2 points. Vivian Rife ended with 2 rebounds and Sheila Smith grabbed a steal from Rochester. The Norse return to action next Tuesday at home against Maconaquah.
8th Grade:
Lady Norse 8th grade traveled to Rochester Thursday and came away with a 30-11 win. Andrea Widemon hit two three pointers in the first half to help soften the Zebra defense. Norse defense was the difference in the second half. Norse are now 12-3 on the season and play again next Tuesday at home against Maconaquah. Individual totals:
