Manchester had a very successful road trip to Bluffton, winning 9 of 11 of the Varsity matches wrestled on the night. Junior Dominic Lincoln opened the dual with the first of 6 straight pins by the Squires to sweep the upper weight classes. The run included 2nd period pins by the Duffy brothers and huge victories from Seniors Jacob Caudill and Gavin Mize, who knocked off another semi-state qualifier at 220. After Bluffton closed the gap to 42-18, Junior Dylan Stroud moved to 25-0 on the season with a victory on a nice move that led to an unfortunate injury to his senior opponent. Senior Elijah Burlingame fell behind in the second period but rallied with 9 nearfall points in the 3rd period to seal the win. Sophomore Zach France finished the night in style with a 3rd period pin vs an opponent who has been ranked in the semi-state. The effort marked the Squires 5th win vs a class A Team State participant on the year, and provides momentum heading into TRC Week and the Conference Championships set for next Saturday morning at Maconaquah.
